Continuing the presentation of my Christmas toys collection "The history of the costume of the 20th century," I want to introduce Jeanne Lanvin to you.

Jeanne Lanvin gained her popularity in the beginning of the 20th century, during Art Nouveau era.

Pastel colors, wild flowers, big hats – they were the items a talented artist began her way with.

For not having big money, a hat workshop did not require capital investments. Fashionistas in that epoch did not imagine their outlook without a hat and were ready to pay a pretty penny that gave an opportunity to earn and develop own creativity. But the artist did not stop there on and very soon began to create clothes for moms and their daughters, and the main source of inspiration was her daughter, whom Jeanne loved very much. And even the logo, designed by the famous artist-illustrator Paul Iribe, portrayed Jeanne with her daughter.

By the way, Jeanne was the first to create clothes for little girls, because before that time the dresses used to be the same style for adults and children. Having built some money balance, Jeanne opened her own fashion house and, thanks to her diligence and talent, acquired high popularity in Paris, and very soon became a member of the Haute Couture Syndicate!

Lanvin fashion house works and is very popular to this day!
