Why is hair-dye quickly washed off after a visit to the salon?
This is due to incorrect application of the dye by a master and is often caused with insufficient hair dye impregnation. "Toning while washing" is particularly poorly kept – it’s when the dye is combed at length before rinsing for ten minutes and then washed. This "very economical option" may sometimes be appropriate, but not often. I would not recommend doing this! It is better to apply a sufficient amount of nondestructive toning dye for previously colored hair, for example, either DIA Richesse or Colour Touch with oxidant no higher than 1.9%. Because the hair has been dyed, it will give an opportunity to color the hair better, fill it with pigments without damaging, and as a result, your coloring won’t be washed off longer and will have a more lasting effect.
Why do I not recommend dying previously colored hair with ammonia dye every time? Because with every touch of ammonia dye hair is destroyed, and when it’s destroyed enough, it will not be able to keep the dye. And light dye will fill the hair with pigment not hurting it.
